Leon Balogun has said his German verbal battles with Gernot Rohr do not have a negative effect on the Super Eagles team.
Speaking to his large fan base via Instagram, Balogun reveals that his Super Eagles teammates often think of him as insane.
“I do challenge the coach sometimes, it helps that we both speak German,” he said.
“Sometimes, when the discussions are heated, the other players will say ‘this Balogun is crazy oh’, but it’s all for the good of the team and constructive.
The German-born defender, who now plays his football for Wigan Athletic in the English Championship, added a light-hearted note that includes moments when Odion Ighalo goes on the tease...
“Other times players like (Odion) Ighalo might come to me and say, Balogun go and talk to your German father now, when the players want to change or to try something,” he added.
