Lucas Torreira's agent Pablo Bentancur has confirmed the midfielder is interested in a move back to Italy.
The Uruguayan featured for Sampdoria before making the switch to the Premier League in 2018.
He hit the ground running in his first season with assured performances, but has since dropped down the pecking order with the likes of Mateo Guendouzi, Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos all ahead of him.
This has led to rumors linking him with a move to AC Milan next summer, and now Bentancur has confirmed he could be on the move.
“Lucas had been in a bit of a bad mood over some technical differences, then he recovered," Pablo Bentancur told TMW.
"And the injury arrived, fortunately, less serious than expected. Today he is completely recovered, I believe he will be a market man.
“I will have to speak to Arsenal. The player would love to return to Italy, but it must be acknowledged that Arsenal treated him very well and behaved great.”
The midfielder is however committed to finishing the season on a high with the Gunners, as the Premier League plots its return following the coronavirus pandemic.
He has fully recovered from an injury he picked in March during an FA Cup tie against Portsmouth and will be ready when the whistle goes.
