Jarrod Bowen picks Declan Rice as his current best player at West Ham

Former Hull City striker Jarrod Bowen has picked Declan Rice for praise, citing that him as the best player he has played alongside, Football.London revealed.

Bowen signed with West Ham United in January on a five-year-and-half contract valued at £22m and wages of around £60,000 a week.

The 23-year-old managed to clock in four appearances for the Hammers before the season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He lauded Rice who made 100 appearances for West Ham this season, saying he is one player he looks up to that has become his own in the Premier League - showing his class in every match.

Bowen was quizzed about his decision to leave the Championship and he said: "I felt I had done as much as I could at Hull, and I felt like I had earned this opportunity now.

“I’m starting down here again and I’ve got to work my way up with my time here.

"Hopefully it’s a very long time. It’s everyone’s dream to play in the Premier League and, when a team like West Ham came in for me, it was a no-brainer.

“Look at the stadium. When I signed, I went to the stadium and I looked around and got to take it all in.

"It’s incredible.

“Making my home debut, coming out in front of all those people. That’s when it hit me. That was what I dreamed of.

"I wouldn’t change it for the world.”
