REPORTS: Manchester United’s still looking for a striker despite Odion Ighalo extension

English Premier League side Manchester United are still in the market for a striker despite extending Odion Ighalo’s contract.

Ighalo’s deal with United was set to end on the last day of May but a late agreement between his parent club Shanghai Shenhua’s allowed him to remain at Old Trafford until January.

The Times, however, indicate that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still looking for a striker to lead his line as Ighalo together with a right-winger with the club said to be the frontrunners in Jadon Sancho’s chase.

With Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood being the preferred players to lead the line, Solskjaer feels that he needs a goal proven striker to compliment the two and to have more options in the position after the squad was ravaged by injuries earlier in the season.

The club feels that they haven’t replaced Romelu Lukaku who left for Inter Milan last summer with a change in formation also rumoured amongst some sources at Old Trafford should they get Sancho.
