Zambian defender Kabaso Chongo, has regretted the media reports that pointed him to the exit door of the Congolese giants.
As published in the media, Chongo suggested he was done with Mazembe and is looking ahead to getting better opportunities elsewhere.
Kabaso has since met up with the huge figure that is the Mazembe owner Moïse Katumbi, to set the record straight.
“I want to apologize to everyone about the media reports because I am still a TP Mazembe player. As you watch this video forgive, Am still your son,” Kabaso told TP Mazembe media.
“TP Mazembe are looking for a club for me in Europe and am happy about that. I can’t run away, If there is an issue I need to sit down and discuss with my parent (Moise Katumbi).
Additionally, Rainford Kalaba took the moment to rubbish the club’s reputation of standing in the way of players who want to leave.
“Since I came to TP Mazembe back in 2010 I have never seen a player having a problem leaving here for Europe. There were players like Kalituka, Mbwana Samatta who left for Europe.

President Katumbi added to conclude that working with Zambians has always been a pleasure. “I have never had a problem with a Zambian player or any other player okay so let’s remain, brothers and friends.”
