President Edgar C Lungu has green-lighted the restart of Super League and National Division One next month.
The head of state also made sure to emphasize that the decision will need to be supported by very strong rules of safety against the Covid-19 virus.
“Guidelines for all sports disciplines to follow as they consider reopening have been developed. They include the following but are not limited to guiding principles stipulated by the statutory instrument number 21 and 22 of 2020,” said the statement.
“Guidelines for various sports disciplines that have been categorized as non-contact, semi-contact, and full contact.
Additionally, FAZ are expected to soon finalize the official resumption dates before the end of next week.
“The Ministry of Health, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Child Development and Ministry of local government will be inspecting sports arenas to make sure that these are ready for action under the new normal,” added Lungu’s communication.
Meanwhile, Forest Rangers lead the Super League table with 46 points, followed by the likes of NAPSA (45), Green Eagles (44), Nkana (43) and Zesco (42).
