Celtic, Rangers to battle Watford for Peterborough striker Ivan Toney

Rangers and Celtic are set to face stiff competitions from other teams who are believed to be interested in Peterborough forward Ivan Toney's services.

According to Peterborough Telegraph, Premier League side Watford are interested in making a move for Toney ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old has been linked with some top clubs, with the director of football Barry Fry confirming that Rangers and Celtic are leading the race.

“It’s similar at Fulham as if they don’t go up this season they might have to cut costs and let their centre-forward (Aleksander Mitrovic) go and again they’d need to get someone else in.

“It’s my belief there won’t be a better striker in the country at the price we want than Ivan Toney this summer and there will be plenty of clubs trying to sign him."

Toney has scored 26 goals across all competitions this season.
