Real Madrid announces squad ahead of LaLiga clash against Getafe with Hazard left out

Eden Hazard is the notable absentee from Zinedine Zidane's 24-man squad ahead of tomorrow night's match against Getafe at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.

The Frenchman made clear during Wednesday's pre-match press conference that Real Madrid need to go slowly with Hazard as he still looks to get back to 100 percent after recovering from ankle surgery.

As reported by Marca, Real Madrid is trying to protect the 29-year-old, who is often fouled at the height of his recently-operated ankle.

Real Madrid confirmed squad:

Goalkeepers: Courtois, Areola, and Altube.

Defenders: Carvajal, Militao, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo and Mendy.

Midfielders: Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde, James, and Isco.

Forwards: Benzema, Bale, Lucas Vázquez, Jović, Asensio, Brahim, Mariano, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo.

Brief preview

The Los Blancos have the chance to build a four-point lead in the table after Barcelona’s draw against Atletico Madrid.

Getafe, on the other side, has been a very solid team this season though, so Zidane's men will need to be at their very best if they want to earn the three points and increase their margin in the race for LaLiga.
