Nigeria’s Paul Onuachu has become a COVID-19 case at his Belgian club Racing Genk.
The news was reported by Belgian publication, Het Laaste Niuews, where it is revealed that the striker was the only individual to test positive in his team before a friendly game.
“In the run-up to the first exhibition game of the season, the entire Genk group was tested yesterday. Everyone tested negative except Onuachu,” said the publication.
“Onuachu returned from Nigeria with a delay because airspace over Nigeria remained closed for a long time.
“Racing Genk will play its first exhibition game of the new season against Eendracht Termien tomorrow, but there is quite a bit of concern within the Genk player group. They have been training intensively with Onuachu for more than a week now.
“He is expected to join the team when he fully recovers from the disease,” concluded the report.
