Nigeria national side goalkeeper Okoye has left his German club Fortuna Düsseldorf to meet new teammates in the Netherlands.
The news was confirmed by Maduka’s new Eredivisie side Dutch Sparta Rotterdam, with the deal set to run for two years.
“With Maduka we bring in great talent. He was in the interest of several clubs from different countries, but he believes he can take the next step in Sparta,” said the club’s coach Henk van Stee.
“We believe he can be of value to this club and are happy that he signed here,” added the coach.
The 22-year-old Okoye could make his Sparta debut when the club kicks off the new season away to Feyenoord.
