Paul Pogba to sign a new five-year deal at Manchester United

Midfielder Paul Pogba is set to be handed a new five-year deal by Manchester United.

Pogba has had a tough season where he has had two separate injuries but has been a key player for the club since the league resumption where he has formed a key partnership with Bruno Fernandes.

According to Neil Custis of The Sun, United are confident that the World Cup winner will ink a new deal once the season is over and qualification to the Champions League might be a key aspect in the deal.

Ahead of their Thursday game with Crystal Palace, Solkjaer said of Pogba: “I’ve been speaking more or less every day with Paul. He knows he wouldn’t be dropped.

“When Paul plays like this, he wouldn’t be dropped from any team in the world-France or Manchester United-but he’s been out for a long, long time.

“There was a question mark before the game against Southampton but he felt ready for it, which was great, so now let’s see how he is. He’s been fantastic since the restart and brought a lot to the team.”

But Pogba’s deal could be a determinant on future deals at the club more so on Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish who has been earmarked for a move to Old Trafford should the Frenchman decide to move elsewhere.
