The DR Congo football federation on Sunday announced that the 2020/21 season will kick off on September 19.
The 2019/20 season was cancelled in June after it was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The federation announced the new dates following a stakeholders meeting that involved officials from Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs.
“The representatives of the clubs have agreed on a date, which will be communicated to Linafoot by the federal authorities. It has been agreed that the two championships resume five weeks after August 15th. This date must allow the clubs to stagger their preparation schedule according to the rules of the game. It will probably be Saturday, September 19, 2020 while hoping that the pandemic does not interfere again ”, a statement on TP Mazembe website read.
