Football calendar: Confirmed start and finish dates for Europe's top-five leagues

With 2019/20 curtains having fallen on all major European leagues, attention quickly shifts to the 2020/21 season, which should start soon. 

The usual three-month break that comprises of the pre-season was largely affected by the coronavirus, and now teams might have a few weeks to cool and get ready for another grueling 10-month season. 

Here are the start and finish dates for Europe's top-five leagues

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 English Premier League

The English Premier League season is scheduled to kick off on 12 September 2020. 

The final match round of the campaign will take place on 23 May 2021.

🇪🇸 LaLiga 2020-21

Just like the Premier League, LaLiga kicks off on September 12, with May 23, 2021, being the last day of action. 

🇩🇪 Bundesliga  

The 2020-21 Bundesliga season is slated to begin on September 18, ending on May 22, 2021.

🇫🇷 Ligue 1

The Ligue de Football Professionnel was the only one to be canceled among the top five leagues as a result of the virus, with PSG retaining their title. 

Can they defend it again? The new season kicks off on August 22 and will end on May 23, 2021.

🇮🇹 Serie A

The Serie A was the last to complete its 2019/20 season, and they will start slightly late compared to the rest. 

The new season is set to start on September 19, with the last ball kicked on May 23.
