Bidvest Wits forced to name goalkeeper coach in playing squad

Absa Premiership side Bidvest Wits have a goalkeeper crisis with the action returning this weekend.

Wits headline the Absa Premiership restart this weekend with a Nedbank Cup semi-finals meeting with Mamelodi Sundowns.

With goalkeepers Brandon Peterson and Ricardo Goss suspended and injured respectively, Gavin Hunt has promoted a reserve team keeper while also registering the 42-year old goalkeeper coach to play.

“Goss is out because he's still got the five-game suspension. Brandon is out as well‚" Hunt said to a virtual press conference.

"Brighton has to play. We have also brought our Multichoice Diski Challenge (reserve team) goalkeeper up‚ who I haven't seen much of.

Asked whether Tyron Damons has been registered, Hunt added: "Yes, he is registered and may have to do a job for us,” concluded the four-time league champion.
