Tahith Chong loan move to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen is nearing completion according to reports from Germany.
The Manchester United winger who signed a new deal early this year is one of the many United youngsters’ that are set to be sent out on loan to gain more first-team opportunities and according to BILD both United and Bremen are almost having an agreement on the player.
It was previously thought that Werder Bremen were close to agreeing on a season-long deal for the 20-year-old Dutchman but that wasn’t quite the case due to Chong’s wages and United’s Europa League campaign.
The bone of contention between both parties has been in the players’ wages where it is claimed that United demanded that Werder should pay all of his €2.8m salary with the Bundesliga side also wanting the player to join them on a two-year loan deal something that the player didn’t want.
United are looking to bridge the gap from Under-23s football to the senior game with other players expected to leave on loan deals including James Garner, Ethan Laird and Dylan Levitt.
Garner is attracting interest from a series of clubs from the Championship that includes Swansea City and Sheffield Wednesday.
