Absa Premiership giants Chiefs extended the table lead to six points ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns, after beating Polokwane City 3-2 in Pretoria today.
The relegation-fighting Polokwane grabbed a shock lead through Lesiba Nku on 19 minutes, before captain Jabu Maluleka made it 2-0 with a deflected free-kick before half-time.
Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp made a double change at half time, with Kearyn Baccus and Reeve Frosler coming off for Willard Katsande and Bernard Parker.
Amakhosi would deliver three goals in seven minutes: Willard Katsande's header on 71 minutes, Anthony Agay's tap in on 75 minutes, and Samir Nurkovic's dsitance low shot on 76 minutes.
Amakhosi's penalty specialist Daniel Cardoso missed a spot kick on 90 minutes when his powerful effort hit the bar.
The 3-2 win leaves Chiefs with a six-point lead over Sundowns, with six games left and seven for Ka Bo Yellow. Sundowns take on Cape Town City on Monday at Loftus.
