Manchester City have been handed a huge injury blow after Pep Guardiola confirmed striker Sergio Aguero could be out for the first two months of the season.
Aguero has been on the sidelines since June 22nd after he suffered a knee injury during City's 5-0 victory over Burnely during a Premier League restart. The Argentine has been training alone at the Etihad Campus and will miss the Premier League opener against Wolves on Monday.
"We knew that the injury was difficult," Guardiola said during his pre-match press conference.
"He is doing the job, in maybe one month or two months he will be ready. He has to come back on the pitch and regain the physical condition," he added.
"Sergio was out for a long time and Sergio is not a guy who regains the physical condition quick so I think in one month or two months he will be ready."
The 32-year-old is expected to be available for selection on 17th October when they take on Arsenal and defending champions Liverpool on 7th November.
