Rangers legend Ally McCoist has refuted claims from supporting who believes Manchester United should make a move for Steven Gerrard.
A fan spoke via Darren Bent's Boot Room show on talkSPORT, citing that United should make haste to retain the services of Gerrard in a bid to revive the Red Devils.
“I’d break the bank and go for Steven Gerrard to replace Ole," the fan said.
“Listen, money talks. The guy has absolutely got an identity in how he wants to play.
“He can motivate players. It’s a no-brainer.”
McCoist, however, felt different about the claim and believes the Liverpool legend should be left to do his job at Rangers and not be distracted.
"Listen, listen, he's won it. Brett's won it. Never mind Steven Gerrard ex-Liverpool, just leave him alone.
"Leave Steven alone! The campaign to leave Steven alone starts HERE. Okay?"
