The Netherlands national team head coach Frank De Boer has backed winger Memphis Depay to make a move to FC Barcelona.
Depay continues to be linked to Barcelona after a move in the summer failed with reports rife that he might move to Camp Nou in the winter and according to De Boer, the player will be a good addition for the Laliga giants.
"He is almost 100 per cent (after his injury). With its strength and technique, he can surprise you at any time. If his head is right, he could be a good player for Barcelona. He is more like (Luis) Suarez than (Antoine) Griezmann, but he is technically better as a team player," De Boer said of Depay when talking to Radio MARCA.
The Dutch coach sentiments comes a day after Lyon through its president admitted that they will do everything to keep Depay at the club beyond January.
Barcelona, however, is keen to have Depay in their ranks as soon as possible as they are looking to replace Luis Suarez who moved to Atletico Madrid in the summer.
Apart from Depay, manager Ronald Koeman admitted that they are in the market too with Manchester City’s Eric Garcia being on top of their target.
