English Premier League side Manchester City are sweating on the fitness of defender Nathaniel Ake after the player was withdrawn while playing for the Netherlands against Spain on Wednesday evening.
Ake was among the starters of the game that ended in a draw but was substituted after just six minutes with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
The Dutch FA didn’t give any news on the injury of the player but should the 25-year-old be sidelined for a few weeks, he will almost certainly miss his country’s upcoming UEFA Nations League clashes with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland.
Other Man City players in the game on Wednesday were Rodri and Eric Garcia who both started the match for Spain, while Ferran Torres started on the bench.
An injury to Ake will be a blow for City who has a date with Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur when they return to Premier League action.
