Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce scouts Peterborough United talent

Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce along with his son Alex, watched Crew Alexandra played to a 2-0 win over Peterborough United on Sunday afternoon.

According to Peterborough Telegraph, Bruce was there to specifically watch Peterborough's Siriki Dembele who is believed to be on top form this season.

Dembele has registered five goals and four assists in ten appearances across all competitions for The Posh in the ongoing season.

The 24-year-old came through the Dundee United ranks before making it Ayr United, Nike Academy and Grimsby Town, all of which were on free transfers.

Dembele who was born London is eligible to pledge allegiance to England, Scotland and Ivory Coast.

However, despite the interest in the youngster, the club's Director of Football, Barry Fry has told his suitors that they have no interest in selling him despite the numerous offers coming to their table.

“We have no interest in selling Siriki,” Fry said. “We’ve had bids for him, but they’ve all been rejected, because the manager, the co-owners and myself agreed we’d not sell another player after Toney.”

It remains to see how far the interest will go from the Magpies ahead of the January transfer window.
