Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided the latest team news as the club prepares to take on Başakşehir in a key Champions League clash.
The Reds lost 2-1 against the Turkish side in the reverse fixture and will be keen on picking a win to stay on top of the group ahead of tough fixtures against RB Leipzig and PSG.
Speaking ahead of the match, Solskjaer revealed he does not expect Luke Shaw and Phil Jones to be ready for the match, but was optimistic the rest of the team will be ready.
“We hope that the lads will recover quickly,” the manager told MUTV. “Luke [Shaw] is out, Phil Jones [is] obviously out, still.
“Jesse is still self-isolating because he’s been in contact with a COVID positive. He’ll be back soon. Apart from that we have one or two little niggles that we’ll have to make a decision on towards the end.”
He further revealed he was expecting Paul Pogba to return, after missing the win over West Bromwich with a minor injury.
“I hope Paul is going to be available,” Ole said. “He trained this morning. It's still uncomfortable and [there's] some pain, so we’ll make a decision on that in the morning [on Tuesday].”
He further delved into the goalkeeping conversation and whether or not Dean Henderson, who started in Turkey, will once again have the starting role.
“I’ve been very happy with the competition that Dean has provided for David,” said Ole. “Dean hasn't put a foot wrong. He’s developing and maturing but I’m not going to give you the team now or tell you who is playing.”
United are atop their group with six points, same as Leipzig, with PSG third with three after two losses and a single win.
