Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has intimated that left-back Brandon Williams might be loaned out in the January window.
Williams is believed to be attracting interest from Southampton who needs a backup in the right-back position and according to Solskjaer in his post-match conference ahead of Sheffield game, he wasn’t surprised that the youngster had suitors.
"Brandon has done really well since he came into the team. He had a slow start to the season for different reasons. I think he's now coming back to himself. I can see more Brandon being Brandon again.
"I've enjoyed seeing him, I've enjoyed him more in training, he's played a couple of 23s games and has been more involved. That's something we'll look at in January but we highly rate Brandon so whoever's interested, they're not wrong," Solskjaer said.
The 20-year-old wants more playing time after breaking into United’s first team last season but opportunities have been scarce following Wan Bissaka’s form. The player who can play as a left-back too has found his place in the position limited after the arrival of Alex Telles in the summer.
Southampton wants a backup for Walker-Peters and with Brandon flexible in a number of positions in the field too, it would be a welcome addition for the side who have started the season in some good fashion.
