Benni McCarthy to work with legendary Nomvethe as his AmaZulu assistant

New AmaZulu head coach Benni McCarthy has made an inspired call to Siyabonga Nomvethe.

As covered on Futaa, McCarthy was named AmaZulu’s new head coach last week, and without any word on who will be his number two at the ambitious Durban club.

It has now been established that the former Cape Town City coach will be partnered by his former Bafana Bafana striking partner and South African legend Siyabonga ‘Bhele’ Nomvethe, who left his player/coach role last month at lower division side Uthongathi.

“The former Cape Town City coach and all-time Bafana Bafana top goalscorer was on Monday unveiled at Usuthu and watched them get beaten 2-0 by rivals Golden Arrows in a DStv Premiership clash two days later,” Soccer Laduma reported.

“McCarthy sat in the stands next to Siyabonga ‘Bhele’ Nomvethe, and the Siya crew has established that the latter is expected to be roped in as part of the technical team,” added the report.

Meanwhile, Usuthu sit in 12th place with one win after seven games.
