🇸🇳 Former Senegal striker Mbaye Leye gets appointed as Standard Lièg manager in Belgium's top division

Standard Liege has named Leye as the club's new manager after successful stints as a player and assistant at the club.

Leye, 38, was announced on Wednesdy to become a third African to manage a premier club in Europe. The club confirmed that the former Teranga Lions striker will take over from Michel Preud’homme until the end of the season.

Leye, who began his playing career in Dakar, started his European career in France with Lorient, before playing for no less than five different club in Belgium where he eventually became a legend at Liege.
