The future of Dutch midfielder Gini Wijnaldum has been a subject of speculation since last summer.
The former Newcastle United man is yet to sign a new deal at Anfield despite his current deal expiring in the summer and while he has strongly been linked with a move to Barcelona, Sky Sports now reports that the player wishes to stay longer with the Jurgen Klopp side.
The reports say that rumors saying that Wijnaldum has rejected a new deal at the club are incorrect but the player is asking for new terms something he thinks he deserves.
The midfielder joined Newcastle in 2016 and has been one key member of the Liverpool side in recent seasons where they have a host of trophies.
