Norwegian playmaker Martin Odegaard has asked Laliga giants Real Madrid to let him leave the club.
Odegaard has found games hard to come by at Madrid with Marca reporting on Tuesday that the player has asked the club’s management to allow him to leave this month.
The Norwegian star has not featured for a single minute since the Champions League defeat to Shakhtar and was omitted for this week’s Copa del Rey trip to Alcoyano. With Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Casemiro the preferred midfield pairing for Zinedine Zidane, chances that the youngster will find more playing time at the club are slim.
The midfielder spent the last two seasons on loan at Real Sociedad and returned to the club this season where he featured in their first two league games but injuries derailed his progress. The player has been fit for the club’s last seven games but is yet to find any game time.
The player has been linked with various moves across Europe but staying in Laliga looks highly likely.
