Bafana Bafana’s Zungu is facing an uncertain future under Steven Gerrard at Scotland’s Rangers.
Zungu, with just 11 league appearances from 29 games this season, has been temporarily removed from the squad after engaging in a social party despite the club’s coronavirus rules.
“First and foremost we have to acknowledge that five of our players have been involved in a breach of the Covid regulations‚ which‚ from the top of the club to the bottom‚ we're all really disappointed in‚” coach Steven Gerrard told Rangers TV, as quoted by TimesLIVE.
“They've been removed from the squad and the club for now on a short-time basis once they isolate. And I'll sit down with all them boys face to face once it's allowed to do so,” the Englishman added.
Meanwhile, Rangers have a 15-point log lead after 29 games this season ahead of rival Celtic. For now, the British giants travel to Belgium for Europa League last 32 action.
