🍀 Celtic manager Neil Lennon leaves the club

Scottish giants Celtic has confirmed that they have parted ways with manager Neil Lennon.

Lennon has struggled with the Bhoys this season with the side getting eliminated from both European competitions in embarrassing fashion, exited the League Cup in the first round, and sit a staggering 18-points off the top; his departure comes two days after a 1-0 loss to then bottom-of-the-table Ross County.

A statement from the club noted: “Celtic Football Club today announced that Neil Lennon has resigned from his position as Football Manager with immediate effect.

“We thank Neil sincerely for all he has done for the club and we wish him every success going forward.”

On his side, the manager said: “We have experienced a difficult season due to so many factors and, of course, it is very frustrating and disappointing that we have not been able to hit the same heights as we did previously.

“I have worked as hard as ever to try and turn things around but unfortunately we have not managed to get the kind of run going that we have needed.”
