Former England international Jermain Defoe believes that his boss at Rangers Steven Gerrard will make a move to Liverpool.
Defoe has been part of the Gerrard squad that helped Rangers to their 55th Scottish Premiership title this season and according to the former Spurs man, his manager has done well with Liverpool being his main target.
“That's probably the main goal. That's probably what he's striving for. Because he's done so well and that's what he's striving for and it's his first main job really. He went from Liverpool Under-18s straight to Rangers, even then people probably thought that was a big job for your first job.
“To dominate domestically was special, but people might look at it and think it's either going to be Celtic or Rangers, but to compete in Europe as well. At some point I think he will go on to manage Liverpool," Defoe told talkSPORT.
There have been reports that the Liverpool hierarchy sees Gerard as the perfect replacement of Jurgen Klopp who is seriously being linked with the Germany national team job with Joachim Low set to leave his role after the Euros.
