Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama opened the Major League Soccer season with a goal in Montreal Impact's 4-2 win over Toronto on Saturday night.
Wanyama who managed the entire game with a yellow card to boot scored his side’s third goal with a thumping header after connecting well to a Martin Kizza corner kick.
Montreal had opened the scoring proceedings in the third minute through Toye with Quinto doubling their lead in the 24th minute; Toronto ensuring that they went into the second half with an easy task when he pulled one back for Toronto from the penalty spot in the 45th minute.
Wanyama however regained the hosts' two-goal cushion with a header in the 54th minute before Mihailovic scored the fourth for Montreal with 19 minutes remaining on the clock.
Toronto were not done yet as they pulled a goal back two minutes from time through Laryea but it was a matter of too little too late in the tie.
Wanyama and co will hope for the same outing when their travel to Nashville SC in their next league tie slated for 24th April.
