Arsenal's pursuit of Inter Milan right-back Achraf Hakimi has been thwarted after he expressed his desire to remain with the Nerazzurri.
Inter's £40 million-rated Hakimi has been linked with a move to Arsenal due to the Nerazzurri's financial difficulties, with Arsenal reportedly preparing a formal bid, but Hakimi has stated that he sees his future at San Siro.
Speaking to La Repubblica, the former Real Madrid man said: "The team that attracted me the most was Inter and I saw it as a growth project.
"I am honored to be one of the testimonials for the new club logo. I like it, as it looks to the future, a future we can build together. I hope to stay at this club for a long time, I'm very happy."
In the 2020-21 Serie A season, Hakimi has six goals and six assists for Antonio Conte's side, and his current contract with Milan runs until 2025.
