Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has assured Edinson Cavani should remain a United footballer next season.
The 34-year-old Uruguyan’s loan deal is coming to its conclusion on June 30. While a former legend bravely said Cavani shouldn't stay, many Red Devils fans’ hearts have long been won over by El Matador - thanks to 14 crucial goals and five assists in 34 games.
But what is Ole saying ahead of contract negotiations?
"Edinson has shown again why we want to keep him at Old Trafford,” he said via Sky Sports.
"Football has its own language. Edinson has proven tonight, in previous games and throughout his career what a centre-forward should be doing both on and off the ball, both preparing for games and recovering from games.
"He's an absolute top professional and everyone in my team can learn from him,” Solskjaer concluded.
United’s energy now turns to the bread and butter of the Premier League, with a trip to Birmingham to visit Aston Villa on Sunday.
