Solskjaer: De Gea not guaranteed a starting place in Europa League final

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won’t guarantee keeper David De Gea a starting place in the Europa League final.

De Gea was on top of his game in United’s loss to AS Roma last Thursday with a section of fans calling on the Norwegian to give him a starting berth in their final against Villarreal.

United have used De Gea and Dean Henderson sparingly this season with the latter seems to have won the hearts of many at the club with his consistent performance and Solskjaer admitted that he has a difficult decision to make for the final.

“I've got to make difficult decisions before the final – but I feel I've got to make very difficult decisions every time I pick a team. We're Man United and we should have competition for every single spot in the team.

“I've always got top quality players on the bench, whether it is center-forward, right-wing, right-back, center-midfield, or keeper. I've said it so many times that I'm the luckiest manager in the world with the two keepers I've got," Solskjaer said.

United will be taking on the Spanish side on May 26 with the game coming after the end of the Premier League season.
