Harambee Stars winger Ayub Timbe bagged a brace in Vissel Kobe’s 3-0 win over Tokushima Vortis in a Japanese J-League Cup game staged on Wednesday evening.
Visitors Kobe took a 1-0 halftime lead thanks to a fist-minute goal from Yamaguchi.
Timbe who managed to compete in the entire game then doubled Kobe’s lead in the 52nd minute before putting the game beyond the hosts with another strike in the dying minutes.
The brace was Timbe’s first goal for the club since joining them two months ago with his heroics earning him the man of the match accolade.
Since joining the team, the former Reading FC winger has been on and off in the matchday squad and will hope that his outing earns him a place in the team when they take on the same opponents in the league on 22nd May 2021.
