Edinson Cavani has revealed the reason why he decided to stay at Manchester United for another year.
The striker admitted last month that he almost moved to Boca Juniors but instead signed up for one final year in Europe with the Uruguayan admitting that he was in a good team.
“I decided to play there for one more year. I think there’s a good team which is one reason to stay. There were negotiations. My brother (and agent) had some chats, things that happen in football, they’re normal. There’s nothing certain, but I think at some point I’ll come back to South America, I’ll play here,” Cavani is quoted as saying by The Metro.
Cavani had struggled in his first days in England but came good towards the end of the season and managed to grab 17 goals in all competitions for United last season.
It has been reported that United was planning to move for a striker this summer if Cavani failed to sign a new deal but those plans have been shelved with the club's priority in the window being in the right-wing and the center of defense.
Tom Heaton is said to have signed for the team as they address the goalkeeping department that lost Sergio Romero and Perreira with Jadon Sancho and Pau Torres said to be the player they will go for this summer to address their other deficiencies.
