Chelsea set to sign ex-Fulham FC keeper

Premier League side Chelsea are set to sign goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli from Championship side Fulham FC.

The Daily Mail reports that the Blues Chelsea are set to complete the signing of former England international goalkeeper Bettinelli who had been linked with a move to Aston Villa earlier.

The keeper left Fulham last month after refusing to sign a new deal and will be moving as a free agent with the tabloid reporting that he will complete his move to the London side in the next 48 hours where he is set to complete his medical.

Provided the deal does not hit any last-minute hitches, Bettinelli will offer back-up to first-choice Edouard Mendy and competition for No 2 Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea have been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper following the departure of Willy Caballero at the end of last month.

Reports state that the 29-year-old has been signed by the Blues to add to their homegrown contingent.
