FC Barcelona's estranged central defender Samuel Umtiti wants to exit the club on his own terms.
The 27-year-old Frenchman made only 16 appearances for the Catalans last season, which was wholly influenced by his persistent knee injury.
With Ronaldo Koeman's side having signed Eric Garcia from Manchester City, Umtiti is unlikely to play ahead of the likes Garcia, Gerrard Pique, and Clement Lenglet.
"Samuel Umtiti has agreed to leave Barcelona on loan - according to SPORT. The 27-year-old has, however, stipulated that he wants to join a top club and have the final say on his next destination," Goal wrote.
"Barca are eager to offload Umtiti and a number of other first-team stars as they bid to reduce their wage bill ahead of the new season," the report concluded.
In the meantime, Barca, who lost out on the league title with seven points behind the champions Atletico Madrid last season, will start the new campaign at home to Real Sociedad.
