Why Heung-Min Son Is Missing for Tottenham and When Is He Expected to Be Back

Spurs returned to action after the international break as they traveled to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace, in a match in which they lost 3-0.

Nuno Espirito Santo, the newly crowned manager of the month, was hoping to maintain his side's perfect record, which has seen the Lilywhites finish first in the table for the international fixtures.

They were, however, stretched today, as a trio of players were sidelined owing to injuries sustained over the international break, and Steven Bergwijn and Heung Min Son were both unavailable due to quarantine.

On the other hand, the arrival of right-back Emerson Royal and the reintegration of Tanguy Ndombele after he was said to want out earlier in the summer, both of whom have made the journey to South London, gave them a boost that was never used.

Of course, the biggest question mark for Spurs fans will be Son's fitness, since he has scored twice in his first three games but suffered an injury while on international duty with South Korea, missing their match against Lebanon.

Although the seriousness of the injury was not disclosed, it was eventually confirmed as a calf strain.

And now, according to Dan Kilpatrick of the Evening Standard, he is expected to miss the game against Chelsea next weekend as well, putting him out for at least three games for the Lilywhites, with the Europa Conference League match sandwiched between Palace and the Blues.

How much will Tottenham suffer as a result of their failure to sign a striker this summer?
