In today's Premier League match against Crystal Palace, Liverpool forward Sadio Mane set a Premier League goal-scoring record with his opener.
The Senegalese winger took on the Anfield grass with the goal of scoring for the ninth game in a row against the Eagles, bringing his total to 100 strikes in red.
Despite a sluggish start, Mane scored the game's opening goal in the 43rd minute, when the former Southampton man hammered home a rebound after Vicente Guaita had saved Mohamed Salah's header.
With his goal on Saturday, Mane also became the first player in Premier League history to score in nine consecutive games against a single opponent, as well as the 18th player to score 100 goals for Liverpool.
In last week's triumph against Leeds United, the 29-year-old had witnessed his teammate Salah score a century of goals for the Merseyside giants, and he now has 13 goals from 14 league outings against Palace.
