Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has hinted the Los Blancos could make a move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe was heavily linked with a move to Madrid in the summer with the Frenchman handing in a transfer request. Perez has revealed there will be an update on Mbappe's future in a matter of months.
"In January we will have news from Mbappé," Perez told the El Debate.
"We hope that everything can be resolved by 1 January."
The Frenchman has revealed he asked to leave PSG during the transfer window and was disappointed the transfer didn't materialize.
"If I had left this summer, it would only have been for Real Madrid," the 22-year-old said, before admitting he was disappointing a move didn’t go through.
"I was a little at the time. When you want to leave, you’re not happy if you stay."
Kylian Mbappé to L’Équipe: “I was NOT changing my mind [on his desire to leave PSG] because of Leo Messi arrival… it’s a privilege, he’s great but I don’t make decisions on sudden impulses. I had made my decisions and I had thought long and hard about it”. 🔴 @GFFN #Mbappé #PSG— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) October 5, 2021
