πŸ† CHAMPIONS!! France win second UEFA Nations League tournament

France came from a goal down to beat Spain 2-1 and win the second edition of the UEFA Nations League tournament on Sunday night.

Spain took the lead through Mikel Oyarzabal, but France won it thanks to goals from Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe.

The match got off to a slow start with the first major action happening after the half-hour mark when Spain appealed for a penalty after Jules Kounde seemed to handle the ball in the box.

The referee, with the consultations of the VAR, however, waved Spain's appeals away, indicating there was no infringement.

The match then jolted into life in the second half with both teams creating a number of chances.

The first fell to France as a great pass put Theo Hernandez clear inside the box, he sidestepped the keeper but inexplicably hit his shot off the crossbar.

A minute later it was a goal on the other hand as Spain took their chance.

Sergio Busquets played a fantastic through ball and found Oyarzabal, who reacted quickly to get in front of the goalkeeper and fired a close-range shot into the bottom right corner.

The goal however lasted a minute as France scored from an immediate counter-attack.

Benzema got a shot away from the edge of the box and scored into the top right corner, with Mbappe providing the assist.

Mbappe then grabbed the winner with 10 minutes to go after he was released by Theo Hernandez and came one-on-one with the goalkeeper, smashing a great shot into the top corner.

Despite late chances to both sides, none could find the net again as France added the Nations League title to the World Cup crown.
