Ex Milan coach not surprised by Donarruma jeers by Italy fans

Former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi said he was not surprised by jeers directed at keeper Gigio Donnarumma in Italy's match against Spain last week.

Donnarumma was booed by his former AC Milan fans following his summer move to PSG after failing to ink a new deal with the Italian giants; a section of the fans accusing him of being money-oriented.

Sacchi during the Festival dello Sport event in Trento admitted that they felt the keeper betrayed them and it was only noble that it was repaid in kind.

"I have never jeered anyone in my life, but at times people do go looking for these insults. Evidently, there was a betrayal. In football and in everyday life, betrayal has to be repaid in kind. So let's not be shocked by a few jeers," he said.

Donnarumma is currently the first-choice keeper at PSG who are hoping to win the Champions League this season following a summer revamp that saw the arrival of Lionel Messi, who just as Donnarumma and Wijnaldum, arrived at the club on a free transfer.
