Olivier Giroud has simply opposed Aaron Ramsey’s recent comments about the quality of the Italian Serie A league.
Ramsey, who left Arsenal for Juventus nearly five seasons ago, believes that Serie A is far less intense than the English Premier League.
“It’s different from what I’m used to,” he told The Athletic in June 2020. “The Premier League is more end-to-end,” Ramsey added.
“There’s a bit more freedom to attack and probably more spaces to exploit there."
Giroud, who has had his first taste of Italy after leaving Chelsea at the start of this season, has a different view.
“I’ve been very surprised by the intensity, the energy in the games here in Serie A," Giroud said during an interview with talkSPORT.
“It’s true they might have less quality than some Premier League teams but they are so generous and they play as a team. It’s very difficult physically you know.
"I’ve been very surprised by the intensity in the games. I thought Serie A was mainly tactic games you know,” the Frenchman concluded.
Meanwhile, Giroud has regained fitness and therefore expected to feature as AC Milan take on Hellas Verona this weekend.
