Paris Saint Germain has withdrawn striker Mauro Icardi from their squad that is set to face RB Leipzig in the Champions League due to family reasons.
The Argentine striker had been included in Mauricio Pochettino's initial squad for their crucial fixture but has since been withdrawn following his spat with wife Wanda Nara.
The player had previously been granted permission by PSG to return to Milan for two days due to the situation but later returned to Paris for the tie but the club thinks he isn't in the right state of mind for the game according to the Mirror.
As detailed by RMC Sport, Icardi has expressed his psychological "malaise" following the separation with his wife and the club has agreed to allow him to be omitted from the match.
The couple has been married for seven-and-a-half years but now appear to be having a serious row with Nara even deleting several posts of them together on Saturday evening. Icardi and Nara have two daughters together; six-year-old Francesca and four-year-old Isabella.
Last night, Mauro Icardi posted an Instagram Story from Milan that appeared to suggest a reconciliation with Wanda Nara - this morning, Wanda posts: "I prefer my hand without a ring on it." pic.twitter.com/VQOk9hdK8y— Get French Football News (@GFFN) October 18, 2021
