Barcelona condemn protests aimed at Ronald Koeman

Laliga giants FC Barcelona have condemned protests aimed at manager Ronald Koeman following the club's defeat in El Clasico on Sunday.

Barca went down to Real Madrid at Camp Nou and there were scenes after the game when a section of fans flagged Koeman's car as he was leaving the stadium with ugly scenes continuing for several minutes.

The numerous fans belted chants against the Dutchman after the game with videos on social media showing the extent of the protests.

Angered by the series of events, Barca showed support to their manager by saying: "FC Barcelona publicly condemns the violent and contemptuous actions that our coach has experienced when leaving the Camp Nou.

"The Club will take security and disciplinary measures so that such unfortunate events do not happen again."

Local police are also investigating the scenes with an update expected in the coming days with Koeman expected to be in charge of the team for the midweek trip to Rayo Vallecano amid speculations over his future.
