WC QL round-up: Netherlands make it to Qatar, Wales hold Belgium to secure World Cup playoff seeding

Netherlands advanced to the 2022 World Cup as Group G winners following their 2-0 win over Norway on Tuesday night.

Steven Bergwijn and Memphis Depay scored late goals to help Louis van Gaal's men make it to the upcoming World Cup tournament. This means Erling Haaland and his Norwegian compatriots were dumped out, meaning he will not feature at a World Cup until at least the 2026 edition.

In the same group G, Montenegro suffered a 2-1 loss to Turkey while Latrivia beat Gibraltar 3-1.

Group D

Ukraine clinched a spot in the 2022 World Cup following a 2-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina. The visitors joined Turke as unseeded teams in the play-off semi, after rising to second place above Finland, who were eliminated by losing 2-0 at home to table-topping France.

Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for Belgium in the 12th minute before Kieffer Moore grabbed the equalizer 20 minutes later.

Rob Page's men will now wait to learn their World Cup playoff fate in the draw set for November 26th.
