☄️ Five South American wonderkids you're going to be hearing a lot more about

There's never been a shortage of supreme emerging football talent coming out of South America.

Man City's recent €10m acquisition of exciting Brazilian winger Kayky points to a subtle possible switch in their transfer strategy, and the teenager is just one of the exciting starlets we're zeroing in on today.

🇧🇷 Matheus França

Still just 17, the attacking midfielder has just been included in Flamengo's first-team squad for the first time and an early indicator of his talent is the fact that there will be a mammoth €100m release clause written into his new deal with the 2019 Copa Libertadores winners. It wouldn't be a massive shock if we see one of Europe's biggest clubs triggering that figure in the not too distant future. All of this despite the fact that he's yet to make his professional club debut but has starred at various youth levels and displayed a rare two-footedness.

Flamengo will go again in this year's Copa Libertadores final against fellow Brazilian outfit Palmeiras on November 27th.

🇧🇷 Kaio Jorge

The ex-Santos striker has yet to get off the mark in his four appearances for Juventus since a €4m switch from Brazil's Serie A as he continues to adapt to life in Italy. The 19-year-old wasn't a prolific goal-scorer with Santos either, though, but he's so much more than just a goal-scorer. His intelligence, relentless work ethic and smart off-the-ball movement make him a teammate's dream and those qualities convinced Juve to take a chance on him. You can read more about Kaio Jorge in our detailed piece.

🇦🇷 Matías Soulé

Despite still being a part of the Juventus youth setup, left-footed attacker Matías Soulé has just been handed his maiden call-up to the Argentina squad. He's a right-winger who likes to cut inside on his favoured foot and join the attack in central areas whenever there's damage to be done to defences.

🇧🇷 Kayky

Kayky Da Silva Chagas is already known by the mononymous "Kayky" as is often the Brazilian way. Another typically Brazilian thing about him is his flamboyance and flair, two dazzling qualities that caught the eye of Manchester City's recruitment specialists. Born in 2003 and only recently 18 years old, here's a stunning solo strike he conjured up earlier this year.

A potential superstar in the making and one which will have City fans very excited indeed.

🇧🇷 Metinho

Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Abemly Meto Silu, or Metinho for short, moved to Brazil as a one-year-old. In June of this year, Fluminense confirmed that Metinho had been released by the club in order to join Ligue 1 side Troyes, who shelled out €5m to sign the 18-year-old on a five-year deal.

We are likely to be hearing a lot more about this up-and-coming central midfielder, who was heavily linked with a move to Man City before his switch to France. To put everything into perspective, this is a youngster who has only made ONE senior appearance in his entire career.

These five names are worth following, and you might get a chance to get a glimpse of Juve duo Jorge and Soulé as soon as this weekend.
