Canada inched closer to booking their place in next year's World Cup with a deserved 2-1 win over Mexico on Wednesday night.
Cyle Larin scored a brace and ensured the hosts beat Mexico for the first time in 20 years, moving them top of the CONCACAF standings.
Four wins and four draws from their eight matches played means they remain unbeaten and are in good shape going into the last six games of the qualifying round.
They have not featured in a men's World Cup since 1986 but would feel they have all it takes to make the 2022 tournament.
Larin's double also took their total number of goals scored this year to 55, and are at the top of the list for men's teams.
England, Germany, Netherlands, and Denmark, who have all qualified for next year's event are among the top five highest-scoring men's national teams in 2021.
