Tuchel: Complacency costing Chelsea

Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel wasn't impressed by his side's performance against Zenit St. Petersburg on Wednesday evening.

The Blues were held to a 3-3 draw by Zenit and finished second in Group H, behind leaders Juventus. The west London club was on the verge of securing a 3-2 victory but Magomed Ozdoev netted a late leveler to help his side book a spot in the Europa League.

Tuchel seemed less than impressed as his side missed out on the chance to go to the top of the group.

"We had a very good first 15 minutes and then we stopped doing the things we did in the first 15 minutes," Tuchel said at his post-match press conference.

"The feeling was we could smile, the feeling was that this is okay what we are doing as we are in charge and we are the better team."

"But we were forgetting why we were the better team, which was because the level of concentration and the level of physical investment was high enough to be the better team."

"Once this drops even 10 percent, once we start managing results and change our behavior because of what the score is, we get punished. That happened to us at West Ham and it happened to us today."

Chelsea are now winless in their last two matches, losing to West Ham before a draw with Zenit, and will be keen to bounce back when they face Leeds United on Saturday at home in the Premier League.
